Join us for an exciting and educational meeting at the American Philatelic Society (APS).  We’ll have a look at a unique and specialized library serving a non-profit organization, and a view to the future by learning about the digitization projects of the APS and the People’s Contest, a Penn State University project commemorating the Civil War.

American Philatelic Society Research library is hosting this meeting at their facility in Bellefonte, PA.  The APS is located on the historical industrial complexthat formerly was the Pennsylvania Match Company (1899 – 1922) and is in the National Register of Historical Places.

WHO:                   Cindy Romaine is the 2012 SLA Past President and Principal of Romainiacs, a consulting practice which is focused on information-intense projects—research, information flow, needs assessment, and authoritative sourcing.  Cindy’s experience includes 16 years at Nike, Inc., where she was responsible for the strategic global collections for a world-class design community.

Come out and join your colleagues for an evening with the Harrisburg Senators in Harrisburg, PA!

This traditional summer gathering will take place on Tuesday, August 14th at 7:00 pm at Metro Bank Park in Harrisburg, PA. We will be seated in our usual covered area behind home plate!
The Senators will be playing the Akron Aeros, the AA Affiliate of the Cleveland Indians .
The promotion for the evening is Obsolete Technology Night!!! The Senators salute technology no one uses anymore! Come find out what they think is the best useless technology!

For those coming from out-of-town, the Harrisburg Amtrak Station is walking distance from the stadium!
Parking is $3 on game days in the main lot on City Island. Handicap parking is available behind the stadium for those with proper placard. Additional parking is available in the city lots, a short walk across the Walnut Street bridge.
